If you are looking for somewhere to spend a couple of weeks cycle touring in Eorope then I can't think of many better places than Corsica. It isn't the easiest place to get to but well worth the effort.

Getting there: We flew to Alghero on Sardinia from East Mids but had to spend 2 days each way to get to the ferry. I probably wouldn't do this again as it isn't the best part of sardinia and nearly all the campsites are closed at Easter. Alternatively you can fly to Nice (no flights from East Mids though) and get a longer ferry crossing. I couldn't find any direct flights at Easter and certainly didn't fancy changing planes in paris with the bikes!

Weather: We had a couple of days of rain but on the whole it is shorts and t-shirt weather In april, I imagine late May/early June would be fantastic before it gets too hot to do anything.

Accommodation: We were camping and there are a fair number of campsites open on Corsica even at Easter. some of the bigger sites have chalets for hire which were a fantastic alternative when it rained. If you don't fancy carrying all the kit around there are plenty of hotels but corsica does have a reputation for being expensive.

Cycling: Although the main roads are quite busy there are loads of smaller roads where you only see 1 car an hour. The scenery is fantastic with a choice of coast or mountains (cols over 1000 meters) or even both in a day. One of the great things is that you can decide what to do depending on the weather and if it looks like rain in the hills then you can stay at the coast.
